Causes of Neuropathy
Peripheral neuropathy is generally a result of nerve damage that causes numbness in the extremities (feet and hands). Peripheral Neuropathy can be caused by many things, including:
- Diabetes
- Chemotherapy
- Trauma
- Infection
- Vitamin deficiencies/poor diet
- Toxins
- Multiple sclerosis
- Fibromyalgia
- Stroke
- Kidney problems
- Liver problems
- Poor circulation
- Carpal & tarsal tunnel syndromes
- Nerve entrapment due to injury
- Radiculopathy
As you can see peripheral neuropathy can be caused by many factors. Often, however, the cause is unknown.
